Specializing in cultural events and festivals throughout Southeast Asia for over 15 years, Jane Iverson, an American photojournalist and fine art photographer born in Oklahoma and based in Bangkok, has documented the lives of Asian people through photography, publications, fine art and documentary exhibitions. The piece in Cotton Contemporary Art was the centrepiece of her Living Cloth exhibition of 2004 which documented the lives of hilltribe people in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Her skill is to take photographs of subjects and make them more personal and more appealing. Among her other exhibitions I would certainly draw your attention to L’Elephant, for which she produced some absolutely magnificent images of these wonderful animals.
